Viewing Analytics
Track your deck performance and see how employers are engaging with your resume. Analytics include page views, visitor data, and email engagement metrics.
Accessing Analytics
To view analytics for your decks:
- Log in to your RoleDeck account
- Go to your dashboard
- Click "Analytics" in the sidebar navigation
- You'll see an overview - select a deck from the sidebar to view detailed statistics
- Each deck shows comprehensive analytics including views, engagement, and email tracking
Email Engagement Analytics
The Email Engagement section shows tracking data for emails sent using the "Send Resume" feature:
Email Engagement Table
The table displays all emails you've sent via "Send Resume" with the following columns:
- Recipient: The email address the deck was sent to
- Sent: Date and time when the email was sent
- Opened: Green checkmark (✓) if the email was opened, dash (—) if not
- Clicked: Purple checkmark (✓) if the deck link was clicked, dash (—) if not
Real-time Updates: Email engagement data is updated in real-time via webhooks. When a recipient opens your email or clicks the link, the status updates automatically in your Analytics dashboard.
Deck Performance Metrics
Analytics provide insights into how your decks are performing:
Total Views
See how many times each deck has been viewed. Track which applications are getting the most attention.
Unique Visitors
The number of different people who have viewed your deck. Helps identify repeat viewers vs. new visitors.
Average Read Time

Resume Downloads
Count of how many times visitors downloaded your ATS-compliant resume or cover letter PDF from the deck using the "Download Resume" or "Download Cover Letter" options.
Deck Shares
Number of times visitors used the "Send Resume" feature to share your deck with others.
Geographic Data
See where your deck views are coming from geographically (if available from visitor metadata).

Where visitors are coming from (email, LinkedIn, direct link, etc.) to understand which sharing methods work best.
Time-Based Trends
View analytics over time to identify patterns and see when your decks get the most traffic.

Using Analytics to Improve
Analytics can help you:
- ✓Identify Successful Applications: See which decks get the most views to understand what's working
- ✓Track Email Engagement: Monitor which recipients open your emails and click links to prioritize follow-ups
- ✓Optimize Content: If views are high but engagement is low, consider updating your content
- ✓Track Application Status: A spike in views might indicate employer interest
- ✓Measure Campaign Effectiveness: See which sharing methods generate the most views
- ✓Time Your Follow-ups: Use email engagement data to decide when to send follow-up emails
- ✓Identify Hot Leads: Recipients who opened and clicked are likely interested - prioritize these for follow-up
Recent Activity Feed
The Recent Activity section shows the last 10 visitors to your deck with detailed information:
- Viewer Information: Company name, city, region, or country (when available)
- Timestamp: When the visit occurred
- Duration: How long they stayed on the deck
- Actions: Badges showing if they downloaded the ATS PDF, copied the link, or sent the resume
- Enrichment Source: If available, shows where the visitor came from (e.g., LinkedIn)
- Location Data: Geographic information including country flag and city/region
Analytics Best Practices
- ✓Check analytics regularly to stay informed about your applications
- ✓Don't overanalyze - a single view might be from the hiring manager
- ✓Use email engagement data to prioritize follow-ups - opened + clicked = high interest
- ✓Track trends over time rather than focusing on individual data points
- ✓Compare analytics across similar applications to identify patterns
- ✓Use the 30-day view chart to see traffic patterns and spikes
Privacy and Analytics
Important notes about analytics:
- Analytics track page views and engagement, not personal information about viewers
- Viewers cannot see that you're tracking analytics
- Email tracking is invisible to recipients - they don't know opens/clicks are being tracked
- Analytics respect privacy standards and don't collect sensitive personal data
- Some analytics features may vary by subscription plan
- Geographic data is approximate and based on IP address (when available)
💡 Pro Tip
Use analytics to inform your job search strategy. If certain types of applications get more views, that might indicate what employers are looking for. Pay special attention to email engagement - recipients who both open and click are showing strong interest. Follow up with these leads promptly while they're engaged.
